Sin blindfolds man from beholding the glory of God

In the scale of preference Abraham stood at the positive end of assumed continuum while Lot (a nephew) preferred the negative end of it. Abraham was spiritual and therefore righteous while Lot chose to flow along with worldliness. After he survived destruction in Sodom, he escaped to the mountains. He and his two daughters dwelt in a cave for the “fear of man” in the city of Zoar, Gen.19: 20 “Then Lot went out of Zoar and dwelt in the mountain and his two daughters were with him, for he was afraid to dwell in Zoar. He and his two daughters dwelt in a cave”. They severed all interactions with people. Their fear exposed them to temptation and they failed God’s expectation of them.

Were they to have remained in Zoar, Lot’s daughters would have gotten men to marry them. The daughters feared breaching Hebrew law of preservation of father’s lineage. All things considered, fear made  them end up in committing the first incestuous sin ever. This is to show us that Satan has always used fear to knock off the bottom from mankind and thus make them vulnerable to sinning and falling short of God’s glory Roman’s 3: 23. Fear of what the Jewish leaders would do to the disciples made them desert Jesus at a time they were expected to remain steadfast in the Lord. Even Peter denied Him three times before the cock crowed. May the good Lord deliver us from the “Fear of Man”.
