From human angle the peaceful revolution in India led by Mahatma Ghandi was a show of love referred to as patriotism to his fatherland. In his days there existed the caste system, poverty, and pervading squalor. Religious sects especially the age-old Hinduism and others did not help technological development in line with what was happening in developed world. He made a profound statement. “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indormitable will.” His apparent frail body teaches us that his monumental contribution to the history of India could not have been possible without an indormitable love for the progress and development of his country.
By the same token, President (Nwalimu) Julius Nyerere led Tanzania to Independence. It was never said of him to have engaged in corruption. His love was to see that there was neither pillaging nor plundering of resources throughout his tenure as leader. He was for peace and progress. At his exit from government he was literally poor but proud of his modest achievements. His records remains enviable.
